Emergency services are helping residents to flee their homes
Residents have been urged to evacuate their homes in Retford, Nottinghamshire as water levels continue to rise in the area as a result ofThe Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Local Resilience Forum , which helps deal with emergencies, said it expect river levels to pose a risk to life until Tuesday.
Residents have been pictured walking amid streets which are filling with floodwater, with some carrying suitcases and bags.The Environment Agency has warned that major rivers could still be flooded until Tuesday and train services are disrupted across parts of Scotland, Yorkshire and East Anglia over flooding.
Derbyshire Police said they were called at around 10.35am on Saturday to the sudden death of a woman in Tapton Terrace, Chesterfield and the force believes it was “related to the flooding seen in the Chesterfield area”.
