U.S. stocks ended higher on Friday after signs of progress on U.S.-China trade talks helped outweigh fears over a slowing global economy. The S&P 500 SPX, +0.67% rose 0.7 % to end near 2,834. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, +0.82% advanced around 211 points to finish near 25,929, based on preliminary numbers. The Nasdaq Composite COMP, +0.78% climbed 0.8% to end around 7,729. For the month, the S&P was up 1.8%, the Dow was up less than 0.1%, and the Nasdaq was up 2.6%.
