Arizona Cardinals general manager Steve Keim calls quarterback Kyler Murray ‘open and honest’ in their discussions after Murray expressed his desire for a contract extension via a social media statement. Keim wouldn’t necessarily share specifics of what’s been discussed between him, Murray, and inevitably Murray’s agent, Erik Burkhardt, but then what high-ranking team official does? Even when the player in question decided on maybe… oversharing.
Well, Keim wouldn’t show his cards in Indianapolis on if those actions are on the table and instead simply chalked the social media stunt up to ‘an agent doing his job well.’ Keim maintains that the lines of communication have remained open between him and Murray. That’s something he’s learned throughout his decades in the football world, even if it was through trial and error.
“To me, that's all these guys want. They want the truth. And I've learned from mistakes that I made and hopefully continually moving forward. And I'll continue to give those guys that feedback that they need.”
