DCI Banks actor Stephen Tompkinson, who's given evidence in his trial today, has denied he punched Karl Poole and insists it would be ‘career suicide’ to assault someone.
The actor, 57, who is best known for playing the lead in DCI Banks, is on trial at Newcastle Crown CourtIt’s claimed the incident occurred outside a house where the actor was living at the time in Whitley Bay, North Tyneside.
Elsewhere when giving evidence, the actor told the court: ‘It would be career suicide to do something as outrageous as assault someone.’The actor told the court: ‘It would be career suicide to do something as outrageous as assault someone’ The morning of the alleged assault, Tompkinson said he was asleep at home with his partner and her child when he ‘became aware’ of ‘two intoxicated men outside’ – Poole and a man named Andrew Hall.
