Stephen Curry played in his first game after being out for a month with a leg injury.
LOS ANGELES — Stephen Curry reminded the Warriors what they were missing Sunday afternoon.
But his 19-point fourth quarter wasn’t enough to help the Warriors overcome the Los Angeles Lakers, who snapped Golden State’s five-game win streak with a 113-105 loss. The Lakers were without LeBron James, who’s sidelined indefinitely with a right foot injury. Anthony Davis gave the Warriors trouble all afternoon, recording 39 points, eight rebounds and six assists.
It took some time for Curry to find his groove after he missed the last month with a leg injury. Curry had an eight-point surge in the second quarter after missing his first three buckets, but he saved his best for last. Curry went off in the fourth for 19 of his team-high 27 points. The Warriors erased a double figure deficit for the fifth consecutive game on Sunday. After falling into an early 20-point hole in the first quarter, Golden State pulled within one by the half.Draymond Green left the first quarter to get an X-ray on his left hand. The scan came back negative and Green eventually returned to the game at the tailend of the opening quarter wearing a pad on his injured hand.
