David Hale, a high-ranking official in the State Department, is one of several witnesses expected to testify before House impeachment investigators on Wednesday.
It is unclear whether he will show up, as two witnesses who were supposed to testify Tuesday did not. All four witnesses who were supposed to testify Monday also did not show up, and several others scheduled for this week have indicated they are not coming.President Donald Trump appointed Hale as the under secretary of state for political affairs in 2018.
