First, you will earn 6,500 Bonus Stars if you spend $500 on the card in the first 3 months. Second, you’ll earn an additional 300 Bonus Stars when you use the card to load money onto your Starbucks account. In total, the 6,800 Bonus Stars are worth about 45 lattes.
The value of these rewards will vary depending on how they are used, including the drink ordered, size, and location. Assuming rewards are redeemed for a venti latte at a cost of $4.90, the 6,800 Bonus Stars would be valued at about $220, or 3.2 cents per Star. We’ll use this Star valuation in our further analysis of this card.The card offers three rewards tiers on purchases. First, in the store, earn one star for every $1 you digitally load to your registered Starbucks card on your app.
Second, you’ll earn 1 Star for every $2 spent at grocery stores, on local transit and commuting, and on internet, cable and phone services.
