Spock and McCoy are Star Trek's classic human vs. Vulcan rivalry, but Captain Sisko truly loathed one Vulcan on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

Star Trek's best Vulcan vs, human rivalry wasn't Spock and Dr. Leonard McCoy but was actually found in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Bones and Spock are, of course, the prototype for a human Star Trek character butting heads with a cold, logical Vulcan. Spock and McCoy have exasperated each other in two timelines: the Star Trek: The Original Series TV show and movies and J.J. Abrams' Kelvin timeline where Spock and Bones were played by Zachary Quinto and Karl Urban.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Vulcans and humans not getting along is a vintage Star Trek trope pioneered by Spock and Dr. McCoy. The often amused Captain James T. Kirk was usually caught in the middle as his Vulcan Science Officer argued for a logical approach to problems while his Chief Medical Officer countered with emotional pleas for humanity. The early episodes of Star Trek: Enterprise attempted to replicate Bones vs.

While Solok came aboard Deep Space Nine for repairs to his starship, his private agenda was to humiliate his human rival by goading and defeating Sisko into a baseball game. This pitted Sisko's team, the Niners, vs. Solok's all-Vulcan squad, the Logicians, in the holosuite. Two weeks was not enough time for Sisko to mold his hapless senior staff into a credible baseball team, and the stronger and faster Vulcans ended up wiping the floor with them.

Spock & Bones McCoy Weren't Really Star Trek Rivals In Star Trek: The Original Series, Spock and McCoy relentlessly argued, but they were not truly rivals because they never hated each other the way Benjamin Sisko and Solok did. In truth, Bones and Spock loved each other, even if they would never openly admit it. McCoy also loved needling Spock about his cold Vulcan logic, while Spock similarly frustrated McCoy by rebuffing his constant emotionalism.

There will never be any such bond or mutual respect between Captain Sisko and Solok on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Solok and Sisko will never be friends, and it's impossible to imagine Benjamin ever housing a dying Solok's Vulcan katra as Bones did for Spock in the Star Trek movies.
