St Johnstone skipper Liam Gordon believes the players need to take responsibility for form which resulted in the departures of manager Steven MacLean and first team coach Liam Craig.
“Players were gutted and disappointed because we had a massive part to play in all that,” Gordon said of the weekend departures.“At the end of the day they’ve got families to provide for and we’ve just basically done them out of their jobs. “That wasn’t to do with tactics. Us as players we need to look at ourselves in the mirror - either personally or collectively - and see what we can do better and get this club back up the league.”
“It was emotion and passion talking after the game. As players, you just need to take it on the chin. “We will be fully behind him,” Gordon said. “Whoever comes after that, I’m sure all the boys will be on board to give them everything they’ve got.
