That combination proved to be one of Benedictine’s bright spots, but a tough challenge awaits in the Fighting Irish after they pushed St. Edward before aloss in Lakewood.
Central Catholic quarterback Ty’Waun Clark completed 23 of 30 passes for 149 yards and three TDs with no interceptions, while St. Edward’s pass rush provided a heavy pass rush. Benedictine will look to do the same with junior edge rusher Kareem Jennings and Co. TCC also used heavy doses of Clark and running back Chris Edmonds, who rushed for 65 yards, last week. The Irish could go to more of that after Walsh ran the football 52 times against Benedictine.
