Britain’s inflation rate has risen to more than 6%, heaping on pressure on Sunak to help ease the burden for families and businesses struggling with rising prices
Consumer price inflation, a measure of the cost of living faced by households, rose to 6.2 per cent in the year to February, up from 5.5 per cent at the start of the year and a new 30-year high, according to the Office for National Statistics.The reading was above expectations of a climb to 5.9 per cent from economists polled by Reuters and is the highest since comparable records began in 1997.
