Tennis in the Land, a professional women’s tennis tournament at Jacobs Pavilion at Nautica in the city’s Flats West Bank, is set to return for its third annual run.More than $10 million of the total is anticipated to come from volleyball events.

Since 2000, the sports commission has brought in more than 210 events that have provided more than $860 million in economic activity to Northeast Ohio. Last year was a busy one, with events ranging from boxing to the NBA All-Star Weekend and all its accompanying events. The $17.8 million does not include economic revenue gleaned from visitors coming in for any of the main professional sports teams – Guardians, Cavaliers or Browns. Combined, the three play more than 130 games in Cleveland.
