Despite fake announcements on TikTok, there is no truth to Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse getting delayed by Sony Pictures, at least for now.
A false narrative about Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is going around that the highly anticipated sequel has been delayed. Following the first film's success, Miles Morales finally returned to the big screen this summer in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, which is already becoming a bigger hit critically and commercially. However, the story is not over yet, as the Spider-Verse sequel ended on a massive cliffhanger, which will be concluded in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.

Through TikTok primarily, a fake letter has been floating around, claiming to be from the Spider-Verse writers. However, at the time of this story's publication, Sony Pictures has not officially delayed Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.
Also, a new report recently emerged that Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse might struggle to meet its release date. An interview with an "experienced artist" reportedly revealed that Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is far behind schedule with its animation. If this is indeed accurate, an announcement about a delay is bound to come before the year is over.
Delays are commonplace across the industry, so if a delay does come to pass, it isn't necessarily a reason for concern. It will benefit the sequel if the creative team has the proper time to finish everything, whether it be the animation, recording with the actors, the soundtrack, or something else. However, until Sony says otherwise, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is still on track for its March 2024 release date.
