The WNBA is investigating allegations that the defending champion Las Vegas Aces circumvented the league's salary cap by making under-the-table payments to players, a league source confirmed to ESPN on Wednesday.

A WNBA spokesperson said Wednesday that the league is also investigating Hamby's allegations against the Aces. The players' union had pushed for an inquiry into whether her rights under the league's 2020 labor agreement, as well as state and federal laws, were violated.

"Being traded is a part of the business.
