Highlights include a giant shoe wall and her daughter Ruby's tastefully pink bedroom.
Author:Dara PrantPublish date:Jun 19, 2019Updated onJun 18, 2019Arielle Charnas's four-bedroom Manhattan apartment is as picture-perfect as her Instagram account. The founder of the style blog and lifestyle brand Something Navy has an entire shoe wall, dines in electric blue chairs and lounges on Hermès pillows. In between Instagram Storying her well-dressed offspring and building out her brand with Nordstrom, the mega-influencer invited ArchDigest.
Charnas moved into the space a little over two years ago, having fallen in love with its bird's-eye view of Madison Square Park — its high ceilings and generously sized rooms also helped seal the deal. The apartment's previous owners lived overseas and had bought it as a second home but never truly moved in.
Her daughters, Ruby and Esme, have the most colorful rooms. Three-year-old Ruby's is done in a light shade of rose; her rainbow carpet is a checked Missoni Mela print from Stark, and above her bed is a bright pink neon sign spelling out Ruby Lou Lou. One-year-old Esme's room is a mix of soft pinks and grays with a leopard-print carpet.
The master bedroom is decorated minimally with soft, off-white linens from Parachute and a bold gray wallpaper. To wake things up a little, the designer added custom-made velvet aqua drapes. "It's my favorite room," she says. "I grew up in Long Island and it feels like it's part of the house where I grew up."
The fourth bedroom is not for guests or her at-home dance workouts; instead, it houses all the shoes, bags, sunglasses and clothes that she receives as gifts from various brands. But aside from her impressively organized closets and sweeping city views, Charnas's shoe wall is the highlight of the tour. "I'm a big shoe person," she notes, before adding that the floor-to-ceiling shelves display close to 200 pairs.3Gallery3 ImagesNever miss the latest fashion industry news.
