Model years 2014-2016 Jeep Cherokees with a power lift gate have been recalled by Stellantis.
Owners are encouraged to park the vehicles outside and away from structures.the modules in 132,099 vehicles are “failing due to an electrical short” after remedial actions were performed during a prior recall.“The suspect period began on February 27, 2013, when vehicles were built with a PLGM located in a spot vulnerable to water intrusion, and ended on September 9, 2015, when the PLGM was made more robust to water intrusion.
According to the documents, a repair is “under development.” Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on June 30. Vehicles repaired under the previous recalls “will still ned to have the new remedy performed.” Stellantis said it has identified “50 customer assistance records, 23 warranty claims and 21 field reports potentially related to this issue for all markets with dates of receipt ranging from July 26, 2017, through January 31, 2023.”If you purchase a product or register for an account through one of the links on our site, we may receive compensation.
