The Heat Advisory expires at 7 p.m. Saturday evening. But it will still be hot on Sunday. After reaching 101 Saturday afternoon, it will again be near 100 on Sunday. But a weak summertime cold front will slip into the area Sunday afternoon and evening. The front may bring spotty showers and thunderstorms Sunday afternoon and again on Monday. But they will cover only 10 to 20 % of North Texas, so most of us won’t see a drop of rain. We will however, see a drop in temperature. By Monday it will be a good ten degrees lower, back to near normal levels in the low 90s for a couple of days.
In the meantime, be prepared for hot weather through the weekend. Make sure you stay hydrated, check on the elderly, and take care of your pets.: Mostly sunny and hot through the day. A 20% chance for isolated showers or thunderstorms by late afternoon or evening. High: 100. Wind: SW 10-15 mph, shifting NE 10-15 mph by late afternoon.: Partly cloudy and warm, with a 20% chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms . Low: 73. High: 90.
