Temperatures are expected to drop significantly over the coming days
It comes after many parts of the UK were hit with unseasonal warm weather where temperatures reached as high as 27C last week. However, conditions are expected to make a dramatic u-turn as snowfall has been predicted for parts of Scotland and the north of England this weekend.
The current long-range forecast from the Met Office for this Sunday, which is subject to change due to the nature of predicting weather in such a timeframe, states: "After the rain clears in the southeast, the start of the period will bring a day of sunshine and showers for many. Expect the heaviest and most frequent showers in the northwest region, with the possibility of hail and thunderstorms, as well as snow on higher ground.
