Snooker's golden ball seen for first time but not many fans in Saudi Arabia are there to see it
The inaugural Riyahd World Masters of Snooker event in Saudi Arabia has announced a major change after the 'Golden Ball' was left unpotted.Only John Higgins reached a 147, but failed to then pot the Golden Ball which was waiting for him on the top cushion.
So in an attempt to provide even more motivation, Turki Alalshikh, chairman of Saudi entertainment, announced that he will double the prize money for next year’s event. Following O’Sullivan’s 5-2 win over Luca Brecel in the final, Alalshikh awkwardly interrupted the trophy-giving ceremony to make an announcement.Ronnie O'Sullivan told 'brainless' rival to find new career in brutal dig live on TVHe also added: “A second thing, in Saudi Arabia we are honoured to discuss with O’Sullivan to have an academy by his name in Saudi Arabia.”
