They must really want that sandwich meal deal
Once a festival lunch meant a cold Pot Noodle, a snide sandwich made in your tent or some very expensive, dubious quality takeaway from a stall. Now you can have your hot Pot Noodle delivered on a silver tray.
OK, probably not, but there is a Co-op mobile supermarket on the festival site at Bramham Park. We're told a meal deal is £6 which is quite the mark-up on what you would pay at a brick and cement Co-op. But it's about convenience and approximately half the price of what a burger and chips from a stall will cost you at the festival. And the prospect of a lunch that doesn't cost double figures has attracted festival-goers to the Co-op marquee like wasps to a discarded lolly stick. As you can see from our Craig's pictures there's a fair old queue snaking its way into the mobile Co-op. What's On Editor Craig, who is at Leeds Festival 2023 all weekend, says: "I’m not sure I’d wait that long for a egg butty meal deal. But needs must at a music festival, I guess."
