The show hails from trilogy director Jon Watts.
Summary Star Wars: Skeleton Crew director Jake Schreier discusses how elements of Jon Watts' style from the Marvel Cinematic Universe Spider-Man trilogy shine through in the new Star Wars show. Skeleton Crew was created by Watts and Christopher Ford. The show is a coming-of-age story in the vein of the 1980s Amblin movies, and will follow a group of kids trying to get home while lost in the galaxy with the help of a Jedi played by Jude Law.
Jake Schreier: For me so much of what I know about filmmaking, I learned just from arguing with Jon, Ford, Ben, and our other friends from film school. So I think just getting to see his development as a director in all of these different worlds has been really special. There's just this kind of infectious enthusiasm that he brings to the work and even in the way he approaches that. I think you can see that come through in Spider-Man, obviously, and how much Tom brought to it.
How Spider-Man's Coming Of Age Arc Can Inspire Star Wars: Skeleton Crew The heart of Watts' Spider-Man trilogy was the coming-of-age journey for Tom Holland's Peter Parker as himself and his superhero alterego Spider-Man. The loss of innocence as he learns what the real cost of being a hero is and the sacrifices necessary to protect the ones he loves, even if it means living without them.
