The MVP candidate buried a turnaround three-pointer with 0.8 seconds to play to lift the 76ers to 104-101 overtime victory in Game 3 of their first-round playoff series against the Toronto Raptors.
Toronto has also historically been a tough matchup for Embiid. He’s shot just 42.2% from the field — including 26.8% on three-pointers — in 17 career regular-season games against the Raptors. “It’s just the first round to me,” he said. “Honestly, I haven’t really thought about what happened three years ago [in the playoffs]. Obviously, the shot makes me feel good about what kind of happened. But during this whole series, I haven’t really thought about coming in here and trying to get my revenge. I think I’m more focused about trying to win the whole thing, one game at a time, and trying to do whatever’s necessary to get us there.
