After last year’s Christmas party plans fell through, we’re super excited to get dressed up again for nights out on the town. Sequin dresses, sparkly tops – you name it, we’re just itching to get dancefloor-ready, but when it comes to high heels, well, we’re a bit out of practice.
So how can we stop our feet from freezing this festive season? Thankfully, Emjee Smit, founder of luxury high heels brand Kaya Capriole has shared six simple tricks with OK! that’ll keep your feet that little bit more comfortable in heels in winter. “Alternatively, enhance your Christmas party look by adding some chic, glittery ankle socks to your outfit. Sometimes stepping outside of your comfort zone - and right into some unexpected socks – is just the ticket,” he adds.
Think about the materials of the heels you’re going for… To keep your toes feeling toasty in winter, Emjee recommends opting for well-crafted heels made from real leather or other high quality materials. Leave the synthetic heels at home. Invest in clever winter tights “Socks aren’t the only way by which you can keep your feet warm this winter; tights can also look fantastic with high heels,” Emjee explains.
Avoid peep-toes “You might love peep-toe heels but without tights or socks, they can be undeniably nippy,” he explains. “Whilst you might not want to hear this, it could be time to try new styles.”
