An officer fired shots, a suspect rammed cars and a passenger jumped off a bridge in a wild scene following a Houston Walmart robbery
Back-to-back robberies near a Walmart in northwest Harris County Saturday afternoon lead to a deputy firing their weapon at a suspect who tried ramming cars in the parking lot.
Deputies responded to an aggravated robbery at the Walmart in the 13000 block of Tomball Parkway, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez. Before leaving the area, deputies learned of another aggravated robbery in which a suspect was detained, he said. While in the parking lot responding to the second aggravated robbery, the initial robbery suspect was found in a vehicle. The suspect rammed the car into several vehicles and tried to run over deputies at the scene, Gonzalez said.A pursuit ensued, and as the vehicle approached Interstate 45 and Rankin, the suspect struck a wall. A passenger in the vehicle jumped out and hopped off the bridge fracturing his leg.
