Sheriff-elect Martinez taps next undersheriff, continues to shape command staff [Breaking]
Sheriff-elect Kelly Martinez has started shaping her command staff, including selecting a department veteran to serve as undersheriff.
Martinez has also tapped Cmdr. Brian Nevins to be the assistant sheriff for the Human Resource and Court Services Bureau.The announcements come a day after Martinez’s election opponent, John Hemmerling, conceded the race. In a statement to supporters Tuesday, Hemmerling said that while there are still ballots left to count, “it is now clear that we no longer have a path to victory.”
