Mendes took to the red carpet in a deep green Dolce & Gabbana suit, but he left his sheer black shirt unbuttoned to reveal some David Yurman jewelry and a classic ribbed white tank top. Obscuring a dress shirt in favor of a ribbed tank top is a subtle styling move that wouldn’t look out of place on peak-era Brad Pitt or River Phoenix, but Mendes’s formal spin on it makes the nostalgic trick all his own.
