Sore right knee forces Yastrzemski from spring training lineup; González says he plans to adjust weight-room routine.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Four games into the Cactus League schedule, the Giants have already scratched both halves of their expected center field platoon.

Yastrzemski, who got two at-bats Sunday against Cincinnati, is dealing with soreness in his right knee, which manager Gabe Kapler said “doesn’t feel like something serious.” Like Slater and his sore elbow, he doesn’t plan to undergo an MRI. Slater, whose sore right elbow has prevented him from appearing in a Cactus League game so far, is “feeling a little bit better,” Kapler said. One player fighting for a spot in the Giants’ outfield, Luis González, will be out for an extended time this spring. The club announced Monday that he was expected to miss 4-6 weeks with a low back strain.
