Haniger, who turns 32 on Dec. 23, was an All-Star with the Mariners in 2018 when he produced a slash line of .288/.366/.493 and hit a career-high .285 with 26 home runs. But he was slowed by injuries in two of the past three seasons.
He was limited to 57 games this past season but has been effective when healthy over five seasons in Seattle, posting an .817 OPS. The Giants were one of four teams, including the Dodgers, in pursuit of Haniger, who played mostly right field over his career. Haniger brings a much-needed right-handed bat to join Giants lefties Joc Pederson, Mike Yastrzemski, LaMonte Wade Jr. and Luis Gonzalez.
