Screen Rant participated in a roundtable interview with Platonic stars Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne, who shared their excitement to reunite after Neighbors, if they believe in the AppleTV show's premise, and how honest they are as creatives:
The easygoing friendship between superstars Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne is on full display in Apple TV+'s Platonic. The new comedy series, created by Nick Stoller and Francesca Delbanco, follows ex-best friends Sylvia and Will as they reconnect after the latter's divorce. Though Sylvia is happily married to Charlie , the reignition of her friendship with Will quickly finds her backsliding into old habits that don't necessarily do either of them any favors.
Screen Rant: You both worked together on Neighbors, and you're working together on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. What do you like best about partnering up, and what does that bring to Will and Sylvia? Seth Rogen: Not too long. It was originally that I knew the bottle-tossing from Cocktail, and I think I actually took one lesson with a bottle-tossing guy and was like, "I'm never gonna f--king be able to do this."
Seth Rogen: In Neighbors, we love each other and are married. We're very considerate and affectionate, and you're always dealing with the fallout of the other person's emotions when you're married. So, there's a point to which you don't push it — also, because you care about the person a lot.
