Utah has failed the children sent to its residential treatment centers. These centers are big business, taking in hundreds of teens per year with the promise of rehabilitation. But there have been riots, assaults and even deaths — and regulators have done little about it.
"Sent Away" is a podcast from The Salt Lake Tribune, KUER and APM Reports that explores that systemic failure through a focus on just one of these programs.
