Mr. Springsteen goes to Washington — again
, visited the White House Tuesday afternoon to accept his latest award, the National Medal of Arts — the highest award given to artists by the U.S. government — presented by President Joe Biden.
The Jersey rock icon traded his blue jeans for a crisp black suit as he accepted the 2021 award amid a list of other honorees that included fellow musicians Gladys Knight and Jose Feliciano, as well as actors Mindy Kaling and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, fashion designer Vera Wang and more.
