The California Highway Patrol Organized Retail Crime Task Force is increasing its presence at shopping centers throughout the state and working with local law enforcement agencies to make arrests and heighten visibility.

"This year, shopping centers across California will see saturated patrols as CHP regional teams work with local law enforcement agencies to help make arrests and recover stolen merchandise." According to the survey, 69% of holiday shoppers plan to shop during Thanksgiving weekend. The top reasons consumers plan to shop are because the deals are too good to pass up , because of tradition or because it is something to do over the holiday.

"This year, 18% of holiday shoppers have completed at least half of their holiday shopping. While this is on par with last year, it is up from only 11% a decade ago."
