Civil servants and government aides who are fined for attending lockdown-breaching parties in Downing Street will remain anonymous and may avoid disciplinary action
Scotland Yard announced yesterday that a first tranche of 20 fixed-penalty notices would be issued to Downing Street staff for breaking coronavirus rules. It said that a “significant amount of investigative material remains to be assessed”. The first fines are understood to be relatively clear-cut cases., the cabinet secretary, were given fixed-penalty notices. Rishi Sunak, the chancellor, has said he will disclose any fine he is given.
