The prospect of a spa, restaurant and rooftop bar opening in Lytham St Annes is set to move one step closer with planning chiefs expected to grant permission to the ambitious scheme.

Although planning permission was already granted for a similar scheme, the latest plan replaces a proposed aparthotel element with a VIP bar.Under the latest proposal, which will be considered by Fylde Borough Council's planning committee on Wednesday, the leisure and hospitality offerings will be spread over four floors. The basement will be occupied by the spa, with the ground floor containing the spa entrance, restaurant, bar and kitchen.
The JR Taylor store closed in 2015 and that building has sat empty ever since. The HSBC closed more recently and the new planning application allows this to be more integrated into the existing plan and includes adding an extension to cater for additional spa facilities. “From the roof top area, you will have the benefit of 180 deg. glazing all within the comfort of the enclosed roof on a cool evening with the option without side on the true external balcony overlooking St Annes Road West with a further option to sit within the glazed corner turret.”
