Fox News Channel host Sean Hannity was the unrivaled king of cable news in October, winning the month with an average total audience of 3.5 million viewers

. His nearest competitor for the top spot was his FNC prime time colleague Tucker Carlson, who finished second overall with a total audience of 3.2 million. Hannity’s MSNBC rival, Rachel Maddow, rounded out the top three with a total audience of 3.1 million viewers. According to ratings data compiled by Nielsen, Fox News Channel extended its streak as the nation’s most-watched cable news outlet–for the 214th consecutive month in prime time with an average audience in prime of 2.7 million viewers. MSNBC finished second, with a total prime time audience of 1.96 million viewers, followed by CNN, with 1.25 million.

October marks Fox News’ highest-rated month to date in 2019, with four of the top five shows in cable news:
