The Met Office has warned that the high winds could lead to injuries and damage to buildings.
Scots have been hit with a 'danger to life' weather warning as strong winds are set to take hold over much of the country next week.
The 'strong winds' are expected to begin on Wednesday and move northeast over the UK, with huge areas of Scotland covered by the warning. The forecasters said: "A deep area of low pressure is expected to approach southwest Ireland early on Wednesday, and track across northern parts of the UK before clearing early Thursday.
