Craig Ferrier was found to have stashed a huge haul of cocaine and heroin in a hatch in his bathroom when police raided his home this year.
A footballer caught with more than £60,000 of Class A drugs hidden in his home has been told he escaped a jail term by “a pretty narrow margin”.
Ferrier, who plays for Edinburgh United in the East of Scotland Football League, was also linked to a second drug find after officers discovered his DNA on a bag containing heroin inside a suspected stolen car. The striker was arrested earlier this year and spent three months in custody before appearing at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! The sheriff added: “I have decided that by a pretty narrow margin you are suitable for a community disposal.” Top news stories today Ferrier was placed on a 12-month supervision order and will have to wear an electronic tag and stay at home between 9pm and 7am for the next year.
