Wind gusts could hit 75mph in Scotland tomorrow
The Met Office has warned that high winds will be sweeping across parts of Scotland this week under a new warning placed on 20 areas.
But now the forecaster has warned that winds reaching 75mph may have the potential to cause travel chaos, resulting in public transport delays and even possible power outages. Here's everything you need to know about the warning, including how long it's in place for and which areas are affected. The forecaster said: "A band of squally showers will move east with a spell of very strong west to southwesterly winds following through Wednesday morning. Gusts of 50-60 mph are likely widely and 65 mph in exposed locations, with a chance of gusts reaching 75 mph in parts of western Scotland, which may combine with the morning high tide to cause some spray and large waves along some western coasts.
