16-year-old Sam Carlin, known as Cherry West, has gained over 100,000 followers on TikTok after discovering a passion for drag during a family holiday in Lanzarote. Inspired by Ru Paul's Drag Race, Sam aims to have sell-out shows and appear on TV in the future.
Scotland's youngest Drag Queen, who is well known in the Glasgow and Edinburgh scene, has set her sights on sell-out shows and TV appearances in the future.
"My first proper drag show I remember was in Newcastle and I saw Baga Chipz, Divina de Campo and The Vivienne, who won drag race. It was just before lockdown hit and it was so incredible. "They thought it was a phase but I told them that this is what I want to do. Since then they've been behind me the whole way which I've been very grateful for.
The performer explained: "I'm unable to get into clubs because of my age so I use social media to let people know that they can start drag at a young age. "That meant a lot to me. He was on Britain's Got Talent before Drag Race and I remember watching him, I think he is amazing. There are so many local queens who have given me advice.
