The Tartan Army will be furiously checking Skyscanner and hotels to budget for the trip of a lifetime to Germany next year.
And the popular European country will play host to next year's finals as Scotland sealed back-to-back qualification for the 17th European Championships. Steve Clarke and Co subjected the nation to a stunning campaign that saw the highs of a historic win against Spain and an incredible turnaround in Oslo, but it was a result in the Ullevaal Stadium that confirmed what we had all been dreaming of.
Direct flights to the capital are available from Glasgow and Edinburgh and cost roughly £230 to £260 for a week's visit. The finals of course could drive those prices up. A hotel stay for a week can be around £300 to £400, however demand will be high in June. Hotel prices will vary across the two cities but a three day stay in Dortmund is quite reasonable at £152. For Cologne and Dusseldorf, it is also under the £200 mark for most decent accommodation. Dortmund's home ground sports a decent deal of just £5.79 for a pint and a bratwurst and in the city centres fans could expect to pay around £4 with a cheap meal weighing in at around £12.
Gelsenkirchen This might be a name not too well known in the context of European geography. The coal mining and steelmaking city has a population of just over 250,000 but will play host some key group stage games and a round of 16 clash. Again, no direct flights from the three major Scottish cities to Hamburg, and it is someway north from the likes of Berlin and Dortmund. A stop over in Amsterdam from Edinburgh would cost around £197 for fans wanting to try out the world-renowned harbour.
