Hot weather is expected to follow the torrential rain over Scotland
The deluge of rain seen this weekend in Scotland won't be letting up early this week as more downpours make their way across the country.
Ventusky maps says the Shetland Islands face up to 4mm of rain over three hours from 4pm today, reports the Mirror. Whilst Tuesday will begin drier, BBC Weather Scotland reports more showers will "linger" over the central belt for much of tomorrow. The rain will dry out through Monday evening only to return. After a dry start on Tuesday, BBC Weather Scotland meteorologist Joy Dunlop says another band of rain will hover over the central belt for much of the day. The showers will begin fading away in the late afternoon when sunshine will break way.
The Met Office tweeted: "There are signs of something warmer by the end of the week, especially in the southeast."
