Jamison, who previously oversaw Dallas Animal Services, says it will cost about $300,000 annually to deploy a three-person vet team to the city shelter for about 40 hours a week. “We feel very, very comfortable that we have a partner that’s going to be able to deliver,” Anderson said. According to DAS records, Operation Kindness has taken 462 animals from the Dallas facility since Oct. 1, 2021, and SPCA has pulled five animals from the city shelter during that time.Additionally, according to Dallas police, 347 animals were taken to the SPCA’s Russell E. Dealey Animal Rescue Center between July 2021 and October. Of those, 308 were alive and 39 were deceased.
