Star Trek fans are rallying to save Star Trek: Prodigy following its surprise cancelation by Paramount+. On Friday, June 23, 2023, Star Trek: Prodigy was not only canceled but Paramount+ announced all episodes of season 1 would also be removed from the streamer. Fan outrage was swift as the Star Trek animated series created by Kevin and Dan Hageman has amassed a loyal following, especially among parents and young audiences who were introduced to Star Trek and its core values by Prodigy.

Waltke has created a Twitter thread with hopeful advice to fans on how they can #SaveStarTrekProdigy and help it find a new streaming home. Waltke and executive producers Kevin and Dan Hageman have been very engaged with fans about the status of Star Trek: Prodigy season 2 and the potential for season 3.

Star Trek: Prodigy's creators and fans are hopeful that the animated series will be able to find a new streaming home. As the Hageman brothers and Aaron J. Waltke confirmed on Twitter, production of Star Trek: Prodigy season 2 will be completed, and it's simply a matter of finding a new distributor to stream seasons 1 and 2. Further, Star Trek: Prodigy season 3 is "possible depending on the new owners," according to Waltke.
