Chief Mark Arcand encourages anyone who sees issues in the area around emergency wellness centre to call outreach services or police.

“We’ve got it under control inside our wellness centre. Outside, people are complaining that we’re not following people,” Arcand said. Arcand acknowledged it will take some time to measure the wellness centre’s impact, but added that he won’t stand for having the facility unfairly scapegoated. Ward 3 Coun. David Kirton said he’s hearing from concerned Fairhaven residents, and working with police, the fire department, the parks department and roadways maintenance on a co-ordinated response on community safety and cleanliness.
