With a 2-2 record, the Saskatchewan Rattlers are looking to keep their heads above water as they travel to Ontario for a pair of games.It’s a short season in the Canadian Elite Basketball League and the last thing the Rattlers want is to be drowning in a sea of losses. They’d rather be swimming laps around the competition.
“We’re at sea level right now. We’re not dead; we’re still breathing. We’re doggie paddling, I guess.”“It’s kind of interesting,” added Demopoulos. “It’s a sprint and all the games are really important, but, at the same time, you have to realize we’re only done a fifth of our season — there are four-fifths left and hopefully we do better in the four-fifths than we did in the first.”
“I’d like to see them playing together more, both on offence and defence, and do the things that are required that you do in order to play together,” offered Demopoulos. “Screening, picking, passing and speaking on defence. Those are things that connect you as a team. We need to do a better job of that.”Article content“Road or home? I don’t see too much difference in it,” said Demopoulos, whose next game at home is Wednesday against the Scarborough Shooting Stars at SaskTel Centre.
