Sara Gilbert has been a part of some iconic TV families, but this is her favorite of all time.
Bill KeveneyBURBANK, Calif. – As the cast of ABC's"The Conners" reads a script from an upcoming episode, Sara Gilbert is surrounded by the same colleagues she sat with more than 25 years ago on"Roseanne": John Goodman, Johnny Galecki, Laurie Metcalf and Lecy Goranson.
"I enjoy feeling stretched, but I never want my work or my family to suffer, so then I think where you suffer is with yourself," she says. Now,"I have more time with my kids, more time being creative. I'm exercising again. I'm developing projects." Gilbert powered the return of"Roseanne" and was a calming voice in taking on the spinoff after Barr's racist tweet led to her firing and the revival's cancellation.
In the last year, "The Talk" also had a trying moment, as co-host Julie Chen abruptly left the show after her husband, CBS chairman-CEO Leslie Moonves, was fired in the wake of sexual assault and misconduct accusations. "I think I found a way to do it without revealing things that felt too uncomfortable, but you have to push yourself sometimes, so I'm happy to not be doing that publicly," she says.
