Gregory Daniel Beaumarchais was caught sending 'graphic messages' to a decoy investigator posing as a 14-year-old girl as part of a sting operation.
Santa Ana police detective Gregory Daniel Beaumarchais was charged Tuesday after allegedly sending explicit content to a person he believed to be a minor. Another investigator, posing as a 14-year-old girl, received"graphic messages" from Beaumarchais, 43, in a sting operation designed to catch offenders.
According to prosecutors, Beaumarchais created a new social media account using a similar name after his initial one was cut off by the provider. He was charged with one misdemeanor count of annoying or molesting a person believed to be a child, and if convicted will face up to a year in jail and must register as a sex offender.
