Each defendant faces up to life in prison and a $10 million fine if convicted.
SACRAMENTO – A 31-year-old San Jose man and a 45-year-old Fairfield woman have been charged with trafficking methamphetamine in Solano County, authorities said.
On Thursday, a federal grand jury returned a five-count indictment against Esteban Ramirez and Marsha Phillips, charging them with conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and related trafficking charges, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said in a news release. Phillips sold more than five pounds of methamphetamine to a Federal Bureau of Investigation “confidential human source” between Sept. 13, 2021, and March 8 in Solano County, according to a criminal complaint.
Surveillance and further investigation revealed that Ramirez supplied the drugs to Phillips at meetings in the parking lot of a CVS Pharmacy at 46445 Mission Blvd., in Fremont, FBI Special Agent Nathan Cernat said in an affidavit in support of the complaint. If convicted of the charges, Ramirez and Phillips each face up to life in prison and a $10 million fine.
