SAN DIEGUITO – A local superintendent is now on administrative leave following backlash over comment she made about Asian students.
The San Dieguito Union High School District board voted to place their superintendent, Dr. Cheryl James-Ward, on leave. This after nearly three hours of public comment from parents expressing outrage over her comment on the Asian community. At a previous meeting, Dr. Janes-Ward talked about how the Asian community arrives to San Diego and how they make it over to America because they are wealthy.Dr. James-Ward did apologize for her comments, but many parents voiced that they no longer trusted her to lead the district.KUSI’s Elizabeth Alvarez was out this morning with more details.
