San Diego County inmate killed in attack at Kern Valley State Prison [Breaking]
A 35-year-old inmate from San Diego County was killed in an attack at Kern Valley State Prison on Friday, according to the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
Jimenez was sent to the prison in Delano in March 2015 to serve a 26-year sentence for voluntary manslaughter with the use of a firearm in commission of a street gang act, according to the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. Ceja was sent to the prison in October 2018 to serve a life sentence for murder and attempted murder in commission of a street gang act. While incarcerated, Ceja was sentenced in Los Angeles County to three years for assault-related charges as a second-striker.Gurrola was admitted to the prison in August 2009 to serve a life sentence for crimes including murder, attempted murder, animal cruelty and assault with a deadly weapon in commission of a street gang act.
